Make-a-Wish

Sometimes blessings come in disguise….

VoiceSign’s founder was looking for gloves she could make talk when her daughter’s kidneys failed. Life for Angie and Alexis took a sudden detour as they found themselves fighting for Alexis’ life. Everything else became insignificant and was put on hold.

As they settled into their new life tied to a machine at a hospital, they discovered Alexis qualified for Make-a-Wish – an organization creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Angie and Alexis used the wish to buy MI.MU Gloves – the world’s most advanced wearable musical instrument for expressive creation, composition, and performance. Angie believed she could make these music gloves talk.

Make-a-Wish is able to offer their amazing gifts to children because of donations from the public. Sometimes people and/or organizations will sponsor an entire wish. Such was the case with Alexis’ wish; it was sponsored by DaVita – an organization delivering holistic value-based care to patients across the kidney disease and treatment continuum.

The following pictures and videos are from an event Davita invited Make-a-Wish, Alexis, Angie, and Kelly Snook – a MI.MU representative – to where they formally presented Alexis and Angie with their gloves.

Although the kidney failure was easily the worst experience of Angie and Alexis’ lives, it also yielded the biggest blessing they had ever received; the beginnings of Alexis’ voice!
